Now that the second season of one of our favorite shows is back - we wanted to catch up with one of the more unique contestants of the first season of Paris Hilton’s My New BFF: Natasha Komis.
Just like on the show, Natasha lacks no confidence in this interview and shares her experiences on the show and what she is up to now.
Make sure to read the full interview after the video to find out all the gossip!

First of all, congratulations on your “Party Of The Year”. How has your success in the music business been and what are your plans for the future? Can we look forward at all to seeing you on TV again soon?
Thanks. Party Of The Year is the single on my EP. We are working on the rest of the album as we speak/write
I am having a great time. My band and I did a mini tour around New York City after the release of the EP on iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc. The new stuff is way rockin!! We are taking a break from the shows to tighten up with our new drummer and bass player. We have plans to do a local TV show for New York, and maybe playing [at] Rocklohoma with good friends of ours, “Dirty Penny”. Rocklohoma is a huge Rock n Roll music festival. Every great rock artist is there!! I am wayyy excited about that!!! Its so great to have these guys on my side. I can bring to life the many ideas i have had since forever!
New stuff going on!!!
I [will] make an appearance on VH1’s “Daisy Of Love.” - stay tuned it should be cool!!! Also just did an awesome photo shoot with photographer Clay Patrick McBride for Guitar World Magazine, it comes out in September 2009. Also in an issue of French Magazine right now with good friends of mine “The Party Death.”
In Paris’ BFF you seemed like you were already inside the celebrity world, is that right? How did you get involved with celebs and how close are you with them? And who?
I wouldn’t say I’m in the celebrity world, just that I am close with a couple great artists. We share many similarities in terms of interests, so of course I’m gonna be friends with people like Simon, Tommy etc. I met a lot of these people when I started modeling, having access to VIP parties, you are kinda gonna meet people like that, vica versa. I’m not so un-VIP myself…
Who is “Dirt Nasty” and how do you know him?
Dirt Nasty is my boy Simon Rex!! He is awesome. We are both cancers and have an awesome relationship! I met him on new years eve in Miami 4 years ago. Have been “friends,” ever since
What is something that happened behind the scenes that people wouldn’t know about?
I was f***n pissed. Some production people had lost one of my leather jackets. LOL it all went downhill from there. My attitude totally changed on set. That’s all it takes for me. Kinda funny actually. Dont f**k with me, anyone or anything I care about; or any one of my leather jackets!!!!!!!
Something the public may also not know is how hard it was to adjust to real life after having cameras in your face 24/7. After a month of that, a lot of us didn’t know what to do with ourselves. I felt like I had gotten out of jail so my celebration lasted 4 months!!! I just went party crazy and didn’t stop!!! It was mayhem for me, it was also one of the wildest and most fun times in my life!!!
Do you still keep in touch with Paris or anyone else from the show?
Ya, I have seen her since the show wrapped. She is awesome! I kinda hang in a whole other scene though. I really doubt she will be at Rocklohoma or any other crazy s**t like that. Though, whenever I’m in the Beverly Hills/Hollywood mood I do see her.
Are you bitter towards anyone or anything that happened on the show?
Not at all bitter towards anything, except that f***n leather jacket!!!
seriously I still have dreams about it! I pretty much got along with everyone. I just didn’t like the structure of how reality TV has to work. Sleeping next to strangers, no straight hot dudes in the house, wayyy to many girls!!! After one month of being cooped up, I went nuts!!
How did being on a reality show affect your life and your music career?
Being on a reality show definitely changed some aspects of my life. It’s weird when people call out “Natasha!” - at first, it was a little strange people knowing you. Airports for some reason are big on that. I have always had attention so that only multiplied. A lot of people enjoy my style and things like that. I get loads of emails on people commenting [on] my hair especially! So many kids want me to spill the secret!!! In do time I will
Do you have any gossip for our viewers/readers that you learned while (or after) being on the show?
The show really didn’t portray who I am at all. I really think they just needed my rocker “character” on the show. I said a lot, but they totally edit s**t the way they want. I learned fast, I wasn’t going to really be interested in watching. It was a bit corny in some ways. Like the stuff that made TV was so cookie cutter… For example: i absolutely adore Onch but even he knew what kinda s**t he had to do to get their attention!! “Toothbrushes in toilets,” give me a f***n break… That is like a bad episode of Looney Tunes! I don’t find humor in corny, fake, fickle s**it like that. Where I come from s**t would get a little sexier and more dangerous than that. But what were we all supposed to do?? They had an image for the show and I, just stayed the f**k out of it!!! After Japan, I really started getting the feeling [that] I wanted out. I actually had a talk with producers and said I couldn’t do it anymore. I was in tears, wanting my own life back! It was hard but I stayed. They wanted me 4 longer… I didn’t stay much longer anyway
I got the show by chance. Some casting directors saw me eating at a diner, and they just asked me to attend. I was obviously really different from most of the people “trying” to be on the show. I kinda knew I was gonna get it. It was too easy. Producers loved all the s**t I said and how I was. They knew it would translate exactly how it did. So to answer the question of why I went on, “well, I kinda just got thrown into it. I never made videos or filled out applications.”
I am glad I did it, but glad its over. I gained many awesome fans but I wouldn’t do it again now or for another season. I made my presence known. I was in and out just how I wanted it. I only usually need a taste of things, then I get bored and move on, unless it’s totally up my ally, and that obviously was not. Of course I was going to “play” the villain in a show like that. It was like putting me on the set of “strawberry shortcake,” or “the care bears,” movie!!! One thing is for sure, I’d be the black bear with a lightning bolt on my stomach if I was on that
Could not believe my eyes when I looked at the DVR, but there it was: Paris Hilton’s My New BFF - Season 2!
We are as excited as could be and are looking forward to another great season. Thanks MTV, thanks Paris!
… But what happened to Brittany?
Check out the first full episode of the season 2 here:
So, after reading the Sinsu Interview I realize that Benji is an arrogent asshole! That was so rude uninviting Sinsu to a party that he had no authority over anyways! Paris seems like she is really nice, and doesn’t think she is too good to talk to us “normal people,” but Benji seems controlling and what a loser fighting with Paris to PREVENT someone from attending a party!
I thought it was really cute how Nicole and Paris were dating the Madden brothers but after reading what Sinsu experienced I bet this was not the first time he controlled a situation, and pissed Paris off.
I met Benji after a Good Charlotte concert a few years ago and asked for an autograph (along with some other people) and he didn’t even look or speak to me, but just signed my poster and looked away. I understand he’s busy, but if he was that arrogant before dating Paris Hilton (one of the most wanted women in the world)… What kind of arrogance did he develope while they were together?
You can do better Paris!
Sinsu on Paris Hilton’s My New BBF, is remembered as the fun girl who got to go with Paris Hilton to Japan, oh and drank… a lot. Right?
Well, when we spoke to Miss Sinsu ourselves we realized everything on the show was not as it seemed, including her drinking. According to Sinsu, ‘Usually I’m holding a glass (cause I like holding glasses filled with liquor) but often times, I put it down & hide it so I don’t ever even finish any glass. The glass is neither half full nor half empty — the glass just gets ditched!!”
Another thing they didn’t show on T.V. was Sinsu’s cooking talents. “I was like TOP CHEF in the house. I can flip random foods in the air & catch it back without looking. I introduced Maggi sauce to everyone & everyone loved it. I should be getting an endorsement check from Maggi sauce any day now.” I think we all would’ve enjoyed seeing some food flying around in the house to know the BFF’s had a little break from the drama!
Speaking of drama, wait until you hear what Benji Madden (Paris’ at the time boyfriend) did to Sinsu off camera at the Video Music Awards! We were shocked!
“Well Benji caused some drama for me at the VMA’s… While partying with Paris & other BFF’s at the In Touch Magazine after party at Chateau Marmont, I had met Baron Davis at our table who proceeded to kindly invite me to the Bungalows where he, Michael Phelps(!), Demi Moore & others would continue partying without the over-crowdedness. (I wanted to tell golden boy that I watched all his competitions in Beijing!) Anyhey, as I’m waiting up for Paris, who was also headed there, Benji, tags along, suddenly STOPS me, and tells me I cannot go!!!! WTF man. I remain calm at first but then he gets really ridiculous; Paris gets into an argument with him about it, and it all got really ugly…finally I reluctantly backed off, because I didn’t want to make things difficult for Paris but if it weren’t for her, I woulda smashed his face!! He was definitely being a big d-bag. It wasn’t his invitation for him to uninvite me. That effer.” Unbelievable. We can’t believe Sinsu had to miss such a great opportunity because of such a “d-bag”! Maybe this little episode was part of the reason Paris and Benji broke up??
How is Paris…Really?
It’s unanimous. All the eliminated BFF’s RealityGossip has interviewed so far, stay true to Paris, and say in person she is really a sweet girl. Sinsu even says, “Any potential ‘enemies’ would surely be enamored after meeting her in person…no dirt in this category.” Sounds like Paris is genuinely great! Now if only she would give RealityGossip an interview…*ehem*
What is she up to now…?
“I’m back [in New York] going on model castings/shoots, film auditions, making music, collaborating, working on my scripts, mingling with wolves, haha, traveling. [Also working on] my art: psychological dysfunction translated into the art form…It’s always good to be back in NY — I am near my NYU resources, my dearest acting coach at Tisch, and my sisters & friends whose creativity, energy, and support is irreplaceable.”
Her Future Plans…?
“…definitely more T.V. commercials (just did an underwater shoot for Kimora Lee Simmons’ fashion line, fabulosity), ad campaigns (just did Reebok again!), and a little cameo in the upcoming film New York, I Love You… more to come! I’m looking for the right film and role to invest my energy in… more scripts, welcome!
I hope to snatch a role in the next David Fincher’s fight club, revisited from a female perspective, or Wong Kar-wai’s next film in Hong Kong, or James Cameron’s battle angel! In the meantime, I’m working on completing my own film – it will be my up close & very personal passion project. Oh and I’m going to sing a happy birthday song for president Obama too. For updates: www.sinsuCO.com.”
How has her life changed because of being on the show?
Even more people buy me drinks now… haha…. I usually pass though, really. Especially in L.A., if I need to drive. In New York, sure, I’ll take it!
And if Sinsu could go back and do it all over again, would she do the show? “Yes, this was a unique experience, like pledging to a sorority haha – the unexpectedness of things, the bonding with the other cast. Meeting Paris & hangin with her in Japan, N.Y., L.A., Vegas was always a new adventure.”
Does she get recognized?
“Sometimes people recognize me as Keira Knightley haha! People recognize me as myself – it’s so cute when they get really excited to see me. Especially when it’s young teenagers & even middle school kids! (I always think to myself if they’re old enough to watch shows like that?! haha). People already stared at me before the show, whether it’s because I had 100-bobby pins in my hair, my cool accessories from Hong Kong, my bumpin to music while walkin down the street, from billboards/films/music videos, the devilish good looks of my shiny new shoes, my dorky smile, my nerdy outfit, my scary stare and conversation with myself when I’m in the middle of prepping for a role, or other random reasons – but now I can just simply blame it on [the show] haha…I like being incognito — I constantly change my look and hair ‘cause I’ll get sick of it quickly, so props to anyone who recognizes me.”
Does she still keep in touch with anyone from the show?
Paris: “We still text each other, party from time to time, and we run into each other at mutual friends’ events. It’s always nice to hear from her
”
Other Bffs: “Onch — I dearly
— he really cared for me while I was sick on the show. I catch up with some of the other gals occasionally.”
Sinsu hopes to help kids in the future, and recently helped out President Obama…
“I hope to jump start a non-profit organization in the near future that helps to promote the translation of psychological dysfunction
into creative art forms, especially for kids. It can be self-healing, highly therapeutic, and enjoyable! No, this is not scientology…
“I had been actively phone banking [for president Obama] Colorado and Nevada whenever I could find time and making trips to Nevada to do some heavy canvassing and assistance to the Obama team – go Iberville! North Las Vegas is such a different place from Las Vegas! People opened their doors with guns and bats…strangely, some are ‘just not that into’ Obama…but hey -we got it blue anyway! Also, at every press event with photos I attended prior to election, I would TAG - old school sharpie tagging – ‘YES, WE CAN’ on my arms, sporting my support in all the press photos! A picture is worth a thousand words! Online networks proved to be so powerful in getting the youth out there to rock the vote! I was able to reach out to many new first-time voters via these methods, combining my public relations with my views and love for Obama!
“YES, I DID [attend inauguration events]. Much thanks to the dear new friends I met at the Obama camp. It was AMAZING!!! I went to DC, the inauguration, and two official inaugural balls – both which President Obama, Michelle Obama, and the Bidens attended as well – the Western Ball, where Marc Anthony and J.lo performed, and the Obama for America Staff Ball, which was my favorite, opened with arcade fire, and a phenomenal finale by Jay-z…
“Sinsurella got to go to two balls in a fancy pumpkin carriage, glass slippers and all that jazz…[The Atmosphere was] ecstatic. Especially at the staff ball - we are truly the next generation – everyone was young, intelligent, (GOOD LOOKING!! haha) from all walks of life, as well as non-politicians from different industries, and all shared the same goal – doing whatever we could to get the job done! It was our time to celebrate. This was clearly no country for old men! Everyone was elated, screaming, smeared mascara/tears of joy, jumping, drunk from massive celebratory toasts – and so was I!!!”
Bird Poop?!
”During the first challenge [on BFF], while I was sitting around watching the others get their makeovers, a scheming bird laid a big one on my foot!!! It was disgusting! Yet hilarious! Unfortunately they didn’t get to catch that on camera. …but did I ever tell you that I’ve been birdpooed on, 7 times?? I heard it’s good luck.” Well, we wish you lots of good luck in the future Sinsu!
Any Last Gossip…?
“Hmm…well, I met James Franco at the Milk screening in L.A. several months ago, and now that we’re both back in New York, I’ll be going on a date with him on Valentine’s Day. Oh wait… Does wishful foretelling count as gossip??”
Zui Suicide side by side with Paris Hilton. You weren’t seeing it? That’s why we just had to have a chat with Zui to hear about her experience in Paris Hilton’s My New BFF and find out what she is up to now.
For those who don’t know: Zui is the Rock ‘n Roll girl who prides herself in being a Suicide Girl and appears to be the living opposite of Paris Hilton. Non-the-less Paris and Zui seemed to get along surprisingly well! As her Bio on MTV says: “Is it possible that opposites will attract during Paris’ search for a new BFF?”. Well - in the end it didn’t happen, and Zui didn’t end up being Paris’ BFF, but she’s made an impression for sure.
Zui went on Paris’ show trying to show the world another type of girl who can make it into modeling (and apparently also on MTV!):
“I did the Paris Hilton show mainly to show the world there are different types of girls out there other than the cookie cutter, blond hair, big tits, cardboard cut outs. I get emailed every day even before the show by young girls asking how I got into modeling and how I did so well because you don’t normally see 5 foot, tattooed, rock n roller chicks doing print work very often. So I figured… hey ill just show everyone via the television what I’m all about.”
Although it was her feature on the show, Zui recently quit working with Suicide Girls because she got bored. Something she still isn’t getting bored over is her little spat with Corrie. In her own words:
“With Corrie… There were many things said even while the cameras were rolling that MTV didn’t feel would be safe to air. - Don’t know how much I should say but I will say Corrie is so racist and said so many other things about countless Nationalities and races that if she were ever to say such things outside of our little MTV Barbie house she would definitely get such a hefty beat-down she would never look the same. I have no respect for people like that and I never will. Corrie knows I hate her and when I say hate I mean it with every ounce of truth and honesty I have in my body. I hate her.”
Even though there was a spat with Corrie, Zui did manage to find some friends:
Paris’ new BFF: Brittany Flickinger - “I love Brit so much that girl is such a good person… she really is.” - how sweet! We love her too.
And yes, Paris herself! - “I do think Paris and I would of been good friends that chick is way f***n’ cool. I got to know her a lot. More so after the show ended and I have mad respect for the girl. I really like her a lot and hope her and Brittany’s friendship lasts longer than most Hollywood-friendships.”
And what are her plans for the future? While Zui “would kill for [her] own reality show” (
why do I believe her?
) she doubts it’ll happen and stays focused on her modeling - sounds sweet anyways!
Personally Zui has been searching for love on the radio (anyone have a link?), but no more. She seems to have found her sweetheart in her boyfriend and photographer of the photos you see here, Corwin Prescott: “Hiii corwin! I love you!”
Thanks for the Interview, Zui - you’re definitely rad and a pleasant change in the Reality world!
Being the only one of the two only guys on the show, we couldn’t pass up the chance to have a quick interview to catch up with Bryan Gallagher, a contestant on Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.
In his Bio on the show’s official site, Bryan is described as someone who will surely stand out, being 6′1″ and self-considered “the hottest gay guy around when he goes clubbing in Boston”. Admitted, his pic looks nice - but on the show he came off as a very quiet, shy person instead.
In the interview we tried to get dirt on Paris, but he wouldn’t give us any. Paris really does seem to be “very nice in person. She’s not snobby, she’s a really sweet, funny girl”. Personally, I’m not surprised (mad love, Paris!). But I’d have thought he would have at least some dirt. See who you should have picked, Paris? Bryan would’ve been a true friend!
Even though the show looked like the contestants had the time of their lives (and I’m sure some did…), the only thing Bryan could say what was going on behind the scenes while cameras were off, is that they all “got bored a lot”. I’m surprised, although I guess there was no, or barely any sexual tension between the contestants… Hope MTV learned and makes it more interesting next time around.
Bryan was one of the four chosen ones who got to go to Japan with Paris (this is where he got the axe…). “Japan was amazing. It was so different there and their culture is awesome. I’d love to go back. When the cameras weren’t rolling, we went shopping and ate Japanese food.” - I wonder how it was after the elimination… Doubt they went for sushi bar and sake bombs - Or wait, he was with Sinsu.
Despite being eliminated rather early on in the show, Bryan seems to have gotten his share of fame from the show. “A lot of people recognize me and will come up to me asking for pictures and everything. Some people scream “BFF!” at me when I’m walking down the street and stuff.. it’s pretty funny.” - we agree.
Bryan hopes to be on TV again soon. “I’d love to be back on TV again, maybe show off the party side of me, seeing that didn’t really get aired!”. That would be cool indeed. Truly amazing how the editors can make you look like whatever they want. Although when you do get to be on another show, don’t be a goody-goody and give us gossip!!
He had his lips sealed this time.
Thanks for the interview, Bryan! We’re looking forward to hearing from you again.
Check back soon for interviews with the cast from Paris Hilton’s My New BFF and Real Chance of Love!
